Vehicle Detectors
Vehicle detectors work very much in the same way as loop detectors, with the added advantage that they do not require a loop buried in the drive to be connected to the device. This makes installing the devices quick and easy as they removes the time consuming job of cutting a traditional loop into the road surface. In this section we will look at the different detection devices available and discuss their merits.
Optex Above ground Vehicle Detector OVS-01GT
No groundwork required
The Optex Vechicle detector is designed to reliably detect the presence of a stationary or moving vehicle while also having the ability to ignore most human traffic. It also eliminates the hassles associated with the installation of an induction loop. No more concrete cutting required. The detector must be mounted at 500mm from the ground and can detect both small and large vehicles.

E-Loop Mini and Commercial
BrochureThe e-Loop is a new wireless detection system that uses magnetometer sensors to detect the presence of and movement of vehicles. The sensors are quick to install as they are bolted to the surface of the entry or exit passages using the dynabolts supplied. This removes to need to cut a traditional loop in the ground and makes the installation time a lot quicker. The sensors are battery powered and are housed in a IP68 high impact plastic enclosure that can withstand the weight of vehicles. The sensors have a 1.5m detection range and transmit the detections to a nearby transceiver for gate activation. The range of the transceiver is 50m and it communicates with the sensor using high security 128-Bit encryption.

VM202 EMX Loop Probe
BrochureCutting up driveways to add ground loops looks unsightly and in some cases can be impractical or dangerous. Our solution is the Loop Probe. This self contained unit can be buried at the side of the driveway with a 12ft detection range letting it pick up a vehicle moving near the gate, the probe then sends a pulsed output to activate the gate and let a vehicle drive through. On smaller sites a sensitivity adjustment control allows the loop probe to detect at shorter distances, preventing a false trigger. 100 ft of cable is supplied with the probe as standard.
